The Lucy Falkiner Fellowship

Professor Stephen Leeder (2007)

Professor Stephen Leeder was awarded the Lucy Falkiner Fellowship for 2007. The Fellowship will allow Professor Leeder to complete research with Dr Lee Goldman, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Columbia University, and Dr Andrew Moran, National Institute of Health Research Fellow, to determine ways of controlling cardiovascular disease (CVD) in developing nations, specifically China.

On being awarded the Fellowship, Professor Leeder said, “Of benefit to both the University of Sydney and Columbia University will be stronger links between the two institutions in CVD prevention research, opportunities for student exchange, and rather excitingly, the development of a module on chronic disease prevention that could be used in the Columbia University global health rack and in the University of Sydney's Master of International Public Health.”
