The Medical Foundation Scholarship
Ms Emily Fuller (2008)
The 2008 Medical Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Ms Emily Fuller for her project titled, Investigating the mechanisms of knee meniscus degeneration.
Ms Fulller thanked the Foundation for the opportunity to, "undertake a PhD degree in my chosen field. I will be spending my candidature researching the mechanisms of degeneration in the knee joint meniscus and how this relates to the development of Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a major socio-economic burden to the Australian population and through the research done at the Raymond Purves Laboratory at the Kolling Institute, I hope to contribute to the understanding of the many components of this disease."
